Poem

I thought of you and closed my eyes, And prayed to God today. Asked what makes a mother and I know I heard Him say, A mother has a baby. This we know is true. But God, can you be a mother, when your baby's not with you? Yes, you can. He replied with confidence in His voice. I give many women babies. When they leave is not their choice. Some I send for a lifetime, and others for a day. And some I send to fill your womb but there's no need to stay. I just don't understand this, God, I want my baby here. I took a breath and cleared my throat and then I cried a tear. I wish I could show you what your child is doing today. If you could see your child smile with other children and say," "I went to earth to learn a lesson of life and love and fear. My Mommy loved me, oh so much, I got to come straight here. I feel so lucky to have a mom who had so much love for me. I learned my lesson very quickly. My Mommy set me free." I miss my Mommy, oh so much, but I visit her each day. And when she goes to sleep at night, on her pillow is where I lay. I stroke her hair and kiss her cheek and whisper in her ear, 'Mommy, don't be sad today, I'm your baby and I am here.' " So you see, my dear sweet one, your baby is okay. Your baby is here in My Home and this is where he'll stay. He'll wait for you with Me until your lesson is through. And on that day that you come Home, he'll be waiting at the gates for you. So now you see what makes a Mother... It's the feeling in your heart. It's the love you had so much of, Right from the very start. Though some on earth may not realize you are a Mother, Until their time is done. They'll be up here with Me one day, And know you're the best one.

  1. dear baby elisha,
i know you have an angel sister in heaven and that one day she will wrap you in her wings and the two of you will sore through the heavens. did you know there are also angels here on earth...and that your mommy is one of them?

she loves you with her whole heart. her love is spreading out over the earth and touching other people. this is what makes people angels...their ability to love when there is no earthly reason for them to be love in that moment. so you already know of angels sweet baby. you are being held by one this very moment.

i have some angels in heaven too and as i feel you aer still so connected to the heavens as you swim in your mommies belly, will you tell them their mommy loves them too with her whole heart. please shower your sweet love down on all mommies stuggling with the pain of letting you sweet angels out of our arms and into the arms of heaven. we so want to hold you. help us remember we held you once in the craddle of our womb. a more intimate hold there is not.

sweet elisha, you know love. you are love. your mommy and daddy are love. this is more than many gain in a life time. i am praying for and with you this minute. may God wrap blessed light around you, your parents, and all that know you. thank you for touching me and for the sweet, sweet soul that you are. send a special gift to your mommy on your birth day...she is and always will be alexis and elishas mommy. angel_mommy. yes, angel mommy.
    much love,
    zen mommy

  4. I love you shelley and you and your family and baby Elisha are on my mind heavy today. I couldnt sleep this morning, I am waiting to hear from you. This is the first time I read this poem and I am crying for you. I know each moment will be so hard for you yet so joyful for every second that you get to spend with Elisha before GOD takes him home to be an angel for him, awaiting your arrival. I am praying for you. Love, Michelle
